I have three resident animal companions, in order of acquisition I have Emmy,a four year old border collie/huntaway, Lord Percival (Percy for short) a laid back cat of about 7 years, and Wolf, in her basket. Emmy is legally registered as a Disability Assistance dog, which gives her the same rights as a Guide Dog, or Hearing Dog. I've taught her to bring me my crutches, my cellphone, anything I drop and can't easily reach...for instance, I knocked my cheque book off the back of the computer table, and she crawled under the desk, picked up the cheque book folder, and backed out with it in her mouth. I've also attached a strap to my walking frame, and she'll bring that to me on command. Percy's claim to fame is having taken quite a long ride on the roof of a taxi, and finding sanctuary at a local hostelry. Wolf is the newest member, also four years old,and collie/huntaway, no particular talents but just a very sweet obedient girl.
